Universal Chaos: The Truth Behind Question 1

Maine Heritage Policy Center

Maine Prosperity Luncheon
Wednesday, October 24, 2018
Bangor

Mr. Jacob Posik
Policy Analyst, The Maine Heritage Policy Center

Universal Chaos:
The Truth Behind Question 1

How would the “Universal Home Care” initiative affect workers and beneficiaries of the current home care industry?

How can the public hold this new program accountable to its stated goals?

How will the proposed additional 3.8% tax on middle-class household income affect the growth of Maine’s fragile economy?

Please join The Maine Heritage Policy Center on October 24 for a Maine Prosperity Luncheon in Bangor with Mr. Jacob Posik, policy analyst. He will discuss the findings from a forthcoming MHPC report on ballot question 1, also known as the "Universal Home Care" (UHC) initiative and how it would affect the economy for everyday Mainers.

Prepare yourself for question 1. The many parts of the UHC initiative are difficult to decipher, and even more difficult considering conflicting reports between proponents and state agencies.
